What is BRAIDAR? ✨🧚🏿‍♀️

BRAIDAR is a lifestyle concierge service connecting black girls studying as international students in the UK (in sixth forms and universities) to nearby students with braiding side-hustles 🧚🏿‍♀️✨👩🏿‍🦱

We operate as a paid membership community and our vision is to connect black girls, especially international students, in UK universities and sixth forms not just to braiders but to a sense of belonging and confidence while away from home.

[I am working towards launching the braid-booking aspect,  so the main focus now is on establishing our online and IRL community, hosted on the BRAIDAR website, which will continue alongside the booking service.]

As someone who's moved countries and schools several times, I know how much of an adjustment it can be, and how many plates there are to juggle.

It's one thing to move to a new boarding school or uni, and to get used to living on your own and being the new kid in school. But it's another thing to do all of that on top of getting used to a whole different country!

Despite the difficulty, I really feel like having a group of people around you to support you, and who you can be close to, really helps.
